Sometime soon I am going to suggest that Bernie, Elizabeth Warren and Bill de Blasio create the equivalent of a People's PAC to raise huge amounts of money from small donors---after the convention---to support electing liberals at all levels....including but far beyond Hillary assuming she is nominated.....
Beyond this Hillary should stop attacking Bernie, especially when she says things that are untrue, which candidly she often does. I am one of the people with credibility to suggest Bernie people support her in November, and she and Benenson and others have no idea of the damage she does to herself with these attacks, which she does not gain by making.
Instead the smart move would be to look for issues where she can dovetail with Bernie. One I am definitely going to suggest would be to take his proposal for a free public college education paid for by a transaction tax on Wall Street speculation and add one new dimension....that to receive this benefit young people should devote one year to some form of community or public service....
There is no reason Hillary cannot not support this....
Right now I am petrified that Hillary is almost totally dependent on Republicans nominating Trump....she has huge endemic political weaknesses that she would be wise to rectify.....even a clown like Ted Cruz would be an even money bet to beat and this scares the hell of out me.....

Former president Bill Clinton had a private telephone conversation in late spring with Donald Trump at the same time that the billionaire investor and reality-television star was nearing a decision to run for the White House, according to associates of both men.
Four Trump allies and one Clinton associate familiar with the exchange said that Clinton encouraged Trump’s efforts to play a larger role in the Republican Party and offered his own views of the political landscape.
Clinton’s personal office in New York confirmed that the call occurred in late May, but an aide to Clinton said the 2016 race was never specifically discussed and that it was only a casual chat.
The talk with Clinton — the spouse of the Democratic presidential front-runner and one of his party’s preeminent political strategists — came just weeks before Trump jumped into the GOP race and surged to the front of the crowded Republican field.
The revelation of the call comes as many Republicans have begun criticizing Trump for his ties to Democrats, including past financial donations to the Clintons and their charitable foundation.
Trump took the call from his office in Trump Tower in New York, according to the four allies, who requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly. The call came as Trump was making a final decision about whether to run, and he was candid about his political ambitions and his potential interest in seeking the White House during the talk, these allies said.
The 42nd president listened intently and then analyzed Trump’s prospects and his desire to rouse the GOP base, the Trump allies said.
The tone of the call was informal, and Clinton never urged Trump to run, the four people said. Rather, they said, Clinton sounded curious about Trump’s moves toward a presidential bid and told Trump that he was striking a chord with frustrated conservatives and was a rising force on the right.
One person with knowledge of Clinton’s end of the call said the former president was upbeat and encouraging during the conversation, which occurred as Trump was speaking out about GOP politics and his prescriptions for the nation.
Clinton aides declined to speak on the record about the call, saying the conversation was personal.
“Mr. Trump reached out to President Clinton a few times. President Clinton returned his call in late May,” a Clinton employee said. “While we don’t make it a practice to discuss the president’s private conversations, we can tell you that the presidential race was not discussed.”
One Trump adviser said Clinton called Trump, but the adviser did not provide specifics about how the call came about.
People with knowledge of the call in both camps said it was one of many that Clinton and Trump have had over the years, whether about golf or donations to the Clinton Foundation. But the call in May was considered especially sensitive, coming soon after Hillary Rodham Clinton had declared her own presidential run the month before.
At the time, Trump was touting a “foolproof” but undisclosed plan to defeat Islamic State terrorists and ramping up his presence on the airwaves, including interviews where he was asked about his donations to the Clinton Foundation. He entered the race June 16.
Neither side would provide an exact date for the call, but both Bill Clinton’s office and a person close to Trump described it as “late May.”
Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for the Trump campaign, declined to comment. The campaign of Hillary Clinton did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Trump is a longtime acquaintance of the Clintons, both of whom attended the businessman’s third wedding in 2005. Since Trump entered the presidential race, however, he and Hillary Clinton have increasingly traded barbs.
She has condemned Trump’s racially charged remarks about Mexican immigrants and tut-tutted about his remark that Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is not a war hero.
“Donald Trump. Finally, a candidate whose hair gets more attention than mine,” Clinton joked at a Democratic dinner in Arkansas in July. “But there’s nothing funny about the hate he is spewing at immigrants and families, and now the insults he has directed at a genuine war hero, Sen. John McCain.”
That was a rare instance in which Clinton mentioned Trump by name. Also in July, before a largely Hispanic audience, Clinton had this to say:
“I have just one word for Mr. Trump. Basta!”
In June, she criticized Trump, without using his name, over his references to Mexican immigrants as rapists and criminals during his June campaign launch speech.
“A recent entry into the Republican presidential campaign said some very inflammatory things about Mexicans. Everybody should stand up and say that’s not acceptable,” Clinton said in an interview with Nevada political reporter Jon Ralston.
Clinton demurred when asked to specify to whom she was referring. Instead, she has frequently sought to tie Trump’s views to the broader GOP field.
“I think he is emblematic,” she said. “I want people to understand it’s not about him — it’s about everybody.”
Clinton has reserved her sharpest attacks for former Florida governor Jeb Bush and other candidates she has called out by name for their policies on immigration, abortion and other issues.
For his part, Trump said little about Clinton until recent weeks.
“Wow, it’s pretty pathetic that Hillary Clinton just blamed me for the horrendous attack that took place in South Carolina,” Trump wrote in a post on Instagram, following that interview. “This is why politicians are just no good. Our country’s in trouble.”
And on Wednesday, Trump wrote in a Twitter message: “Do you notice that Hillary spews out Jeb’s name as often as possible in order to give him status? She knows Trump is her worst nightmare.”
That’s a long way from the cordial, even cozy, relationship between the two when Clinton was a U.S. senator from New York and Trump was a constituent and supporter.

Whom does the country have to blame for Donald Trump’s ascendancy in American politics? The Republican Party, for cultivating conservative populism to score short-term victories against Barack Obama? The media, for covering Trump’s every utterance at the expense of all other candidates? Celebrity culture, for thrusting him into the public consciousness? Capitalism, for making him rich? Tall buildings, of which Trump has many?
Wrong, says The Washington Post, which revealed the supposed truth on Wednesday: it was former president and candidate spouse Bill Clinton all along.
According to several Trump sources (and one Clinton source) who spoke to the Post, the two men spoke over the phone in late May, shortly before Trump announced his run in June. During the call, the Trump sources said, Clinton “encouraged Trump’s efforts to play a larger role in the Republican Party” and “analyzed Trump’s prospects and his desire to rouse the G.O.P. base.”
That conversation, said the anonymous Trump sources, certainly didn’t discourage the billionaire to run: while Clinton never outright told Trump to enter the race, he reportedly told Trump that he was “striking a chord with frustrated conservatives and was a rising force on the right,” and his tone was supposedly “encouraging.”
(This is something a political genius would tell someone with a desire to run for president, especially if that person was a known self-promoter, capable of sucking the air out of a room full of his opponents—and especially if the genius’s wife happened to be running in the party against that known self-promoter.)
Clinton’s team confirmed the call took place, but told the Post that the presidential race did not come up at all during the conversation—which, knowing Clinton’s famed semantics, doesn’t rule out the possibility that he watched Inception the night before the Trump call and decided to plant some ideas.
At the moment, Trump is engaging in regular, vicious political warfare with Hillary Clinton, whom he used to strongly support. If Trump is a pawn in the Clintons' game, then either the Clintons successfully planned to blow up Republican opposition to Hillary's campaign, by encouraging Trump to run, or—never mind, that's basically the only option.

In 24 hours, just the past 24 hours, this President has vetoes pay for the military, stalled relief for millions of you, and issued the most toxic tally of pardons we have EVER seen: 26 new Trump pardons tonight. Gifts to many convicted criminals that you know well, who did HORRIBLE things -- many admitted it. And then he left to go golfing in Florida. After vetoing pay for the military! After leaving relief in limbo! Millions of Americans don't have food for Christmas, let alone money for heat or gifts. And he knows it! And he doesn't sign the relief bill, AND he doesn't veto it! So he knows NOTHING WILL HAPPEN!
There is a gift in this moment, and I hope you decide to accept it, once and for all. It is a gift of ultimate clarity about this outgoing President. Democrats, Independents, REAL Republicans -- you all now know, just based on the last 24 hours alone, this guy is THE WORST EVER! He is the WORST President we have EVER seen! PERIOD! He has not only proved to be incompetent, but he is indeed TRULY inhumane! He has denied the hungry; he has denied our warriors; he has denied a pandemic, and he does not give a DAMN about ANYTHING but lying about it all, and faking his own greatness! THAT IS THE TRUTH! It is demonstrated by EVERYTHING we have seen. It MUST be his legacy! And those who have ignored and powered him, those who have solicited this brand of his own HORRIBLE actions towards others, are complicit. On top of years of perfidy, of deceit, of lies, OF VICIOUSNESS towards those who need protection consistently, you literally have seen NOTHING to feel any other way! And yet you do. But no more. This has to be a bottom! He MUST be seen as the worst, and we must run away from him and this type of behavior as fast as we ever have collectively as a country before.
Anybody who wants to continue his kind of just CROOKED ways must be condemned, and early. Because this cannot be repeated! That would be a shame on us. The headliners he pardoned tonight? Those who kept their mouth shut.
Family by extension: Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, and Charles Kushner that is the father of his son-in-law Jared. Law and order? The pro-law enforcement President? GIVE ME A BREAK! He just UNDID hard work of law enforcement who made the cases against these crooks! This country pursued justice against those who did wrong. He just undid it! Not because there are new reckonings in the case. But because it's ALL ABOUT HIM SAVING FACE! Both Stone and Manafort were indicted by Special Counsel Bob Mueller. They went to trial! They were convicted by juries of multiple crimes! Stone, a longtime ally; Manafort, his former campaign chair; and Kusher -- you may not know about him, but I'll give you the thumbnail that's all you need to know. He pleaded guilty to tax evasion and retaliating against a federal witness, and lying to the FEC. He was prosecuted in the early 2000s by then U.S. Attorney Chris Christie, and then Christie, of course, became Trump's transition chair. Well, what's so bad about that? It's the father-in-law, it's his son-in-law's father. Isn't that the right thing? Kushner is no ordinary white-collar criminal. This man set up his own brother-in-law with a prostitute, and then sent the video to his sister! That is the kind of thing that only Trump would see a pardon available.
He commuted Stone's sentence for obstruction of Congress, threatening a witness earlier this year before he was set to surrender. We know why he did it. Roger Stone is many things, but one of them is loyal to those he sees as on his side. Trump returned the favor.
Manafort has been home serving confinement after COVID. This is no mercy pardon. These are rewards. You notice what Manafort never did, right? He never talked about Trump. Not a word.
Republican Senator Ben Sasse put out a statement tonight calling it all "rotten to the core." Welcome to the party, brother! Welcome to the party! The time is over for your delicate dance! Sasse, you've got a great future for your party, you have a potential future in this country -- YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT ALL ALONG! By the way, Sasse has been one of the MOST rational!
We now should have clarity! Trump is THE WORST. We have never seen ANYTHING like this! This kind of insensitivity to humanity! This disrespect of justice! He is LITERALLY no friend to justice! And he's the President! Think about it!
The pardons have implications, and we will discuss them tonight with some of the best minds in the business. But you have to just keep your eye on the urgency that this President has just ignored. The man has gone to Florida after blowing up the relief bill! He won't sign it! He stalled it! He DID veto pay for troops so at least Congress can work on overriding it! But if you are going to do something about the relief bill, you've got to do it! WALK THE WALK! WHY DIDN'T YOU VETO THE BILL?! Why didn't you then, if you weren't going to veto it, tell McCarthy to meet Pelosi on the floor and vote it out? Why didn't you make a deal? WHY DID YOU LEAVE? WHY DID YOU LEAVE?!
If you believe in a God, I don't care what your religion is, WHO DOES THIS?! By all accounts you are not working on a deal! EVERY DAY YOU GOLF! Every day you delay is another day of paralyzing pain in a country that YOU OWE! And you KNOW this! And you won't veto, so there can be some kind of action! You won't tell your minions to meet Pelosi. WHY?! WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?! What did you REALLY DO THIS FOR?! How can the answer not be YOU? How can the truth not be that you wanted to LOOK the part of the hero just when you're trying to undo democracy, even though you know you would torpedo a compromise that has been MONTHS in the making that you ignored while your people helped negotiate?!
It is the WORST you could do in this situation. And you MADE this situation! You IGNORED this pandemic! You made a BAD play. You thought if you ignored it, it would go away, and the economy would be okay, and you would win, and you were WRONG! And you DOUBLED-DOWN on dumb! And this time, it bit ALL OF US in the ass!
And then you leave, almost assuring NO ACTION on the relief! At least you vetoed the NDAA, the National Defense Authorization Act so you can set up a possible override. Yeah, it's going to pit members of your party against each other, but you know what? They need to do that anyway! The Republicans have to figure out WHAT THE HELL they are about anymore! Are you really just ReTrumplicans? You seem confused! Well, you should have clarity, too. This man is the worst! He has been TERRIBLE for your party, because nobody knows what the hell you're about anymore, and neither do you!

In 24 hours, just the past 24 hours, this President has vetoes pay for the military, stalled relief for millions of you, and issued the most toxic tally of pardons we have EVER seen: 26 new Trump pardons tonight. Family by extension: Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, and Charles Kushner that is the father of his son-in-law Jared. Law and order? The pro-law enforcement President? GIVE ME A BREAK! He just UNDID hard work of law enforcement who made the cases against these crooks! This country pursued justice against those who did wrong. He just undid it! Not because there are new reckonings in the case. But because it's ALL ABOUT HIM SAVING FACE! Both Stone and Manafort were indicted by Special Counsel Bob Mueller. They went to trial! They were convicted by juries of multiple crimes! Stone, a longtime ally; Manafort, his former campaign chair; and Kusher -- you may not know about him, but I'll give you the thumbnail that's all you need to know. He pleaded guilty to tax evasion and retaliating against a federal witness, and lying to the FEC. He was prosecuted in the early 2000s by then U.S. Attorney Chris Christie, and then Christie, of course, became Trump's transition chair. Well, what's so bad about that? It's the father-in-law, it's his son-in-law's father. Isn't that the right thing? Kushner is no ordinary white-collar criminal. This man set up his own brother-in-law with a prostitute, and then sent the video to his sister! That is the kind of thing that only Trump would see a pardon available.
He commuted Stone's sentence for obstruction of Congress, threatening a witness earlier this year before he was set to surrender. We know why he did it. Roger Stone is many things, but one of them is loyal to those he sees as on his side. Trump returned the favor.
Manafort has been home serving confinement after COVID. This is no mercy pardon. These are rewards. You notice what Manafort never did, right? He never talked about Trump. Not a word.
Republican Senator Ben Sasse put out a statement tonight calling it all "rotten to the core." Welcome to the party, brother! Welcome to the party! The time is over for your delicate dance! Sasse, you've got a great future for your party, you have a potential future in this country -- YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT ALL ALONG! By the way, Sasse has been one of the MOST rational!
We now should have clarity! Trump is THE WORST. We have never seen ANYTHING like this! This kind of insensitivity to humanity! This disrespect of justice! He is LITERALLY no friend to justice! And he's the President! Think about it!

2. He said he won’t have time to play golf if elected president.
But he has made more than 250 visits to his golf clubs since he took office – a record for any president – including more trips during the pandemic than meetings with Dr. Fauci. The total financial cost to America? More than $136 million.
3. He said he would repeal the Affordable Care Act, and replace it with something “beautiful.”
It didn’t happen. Instead, 7 million Americans have lost their health insurance since he took office. He has asked the Supreme Court to strike down the law in the middle of a global pandemic with no plan to replace it.
4. He said he’d cut your taxes, and that the super-rich like him would pay more.
He did the opposite. By 2027, the richest 1 percent will have received 83 percent of the Trump tax cut and the richest 0.1 percent, 60 percent of it. But more than half of all Americans will pay more in taxes.
5. He said corporations would use their tax cuts to invest in American workers.
They didn’t. Corporations spent more of their tax savings buying back shares of their own stock than increasing workers wages.
6. He said he would boost economic growth by 4 percent a year.
Nope. The economy stalled, and unemployment has soared to the highest levels since the Great Depression. Just over half of working-age Americans are employed – the worst ratio in 70 years.
7. He said he wouldn’t “cut Social Security like every other Republican and I’m not going to cut Medicare or Medicaid.”
His latest budget includes billions in cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
8. He promised to be “the voice” of American workers.
He hasn’t. His administration has stripped workers of their rights, repealed overtime protections, rolled back workplace safety rules, and turned a blind eye to employers who steal their workers’ wages.
9. He promised that the average American family would see a $4,000 pay raise because of his tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations.
But nothing trickled down. Wages for most Americans have barely kept up with inflation.
10. He promised that anyone who wants a test for Covid will get one.
But countless Americans still can’t get a test.
11. He said hydroxychloroquine protects against coronavirus.
No way. The FDA revoked its emergency authorization due to the drug’s potentially lethal side effects.
12. He promised to eliminate the federal deficit.
He has increased the federal deficit by more than 60 percent.
13. He said he would hire “only the best people.”
He has fired a record number of his own cabinet and White House picks, and then called them “whackos,” “dumb as a rock,“ and "not mentally qualified.” 6 of them have been charged with crimes.
14. He promised to bring down the price of prescription drugs and said drug companies are “getting away with murder.”
They still are. Drug prices have soared, and a company that got federal funds to develop a drug to treat coronavirus is charging $3,000 a pop.=
15. He promised to revive the struggling coal industry and bring back lost coal mining jobs.
The coal industry has continued to lose jobs as clean energy becomes cheaper.
16. He promised to help American workers during the pandemic.
But 80% of the tax benefits in the coronavirus stimulus package have gone to millionaires and billionaires. And at least 21 million Americans have lost extra unemployment benefits, with no new stimulus check to fall back on.
17. He said he’d drain the swamp.
Instead, he’s brought into his administration more billionaires, CEOs, and Wall Street moguls than in any administration in history, and he’s filled departments and agencies with former lobbyists, lawyers and consultants who are crafting new policies for the same industries they used to work for.
18. He promised to protect Americans with pre-existing conditions.
His Justice Department is trying to repeal the entire Affordable Care Act, including protections for people with preexisting conditions.
19. He said Mexico would pay for his border wall.
The wall is estimated to cost American taxpayers an estimated $11 billion.
20. He promised to bring peace to the Middle East.
Instead, tensions have increased and his so-called “peace plan” was dead on arrival.
21. He promised to lock up Hillary Clinton for using a private email server.
He didn’t. Funny enough, Trump uses his personal cell-phone for official business, and several members of his own administration, including Jared Kushner and Ivanka, have used private email in the White House.
22. He promised to use his business experience to whip the federal government into shape.
He hasn’t. His White House is in permanent chaos. He caused the longest government shutdown in our nation’s history when he didn’t get funding for his wall.
23. He promised to end DACA.
The Supreme Court ruled that his plan to deport 700,000 young immigrants was unconstitutional, and DACA still stands.
24. He promised “six weeks of paid maternity leave to any mother with a newborn child whose employer does not provide the benefit.”
He hasn’t delivered.
25. He promised to bring an end to Kim Jong-Un’s nuclear program.
Kim is expanding North Korea’s nuclear program.
26. He said he would distance himself from his businesses while in office.
He continues to make money from his properties and maintain his grip on his real estate empire.
27. He said he’d force companies to keep jobs in America, and that there would be consequences for companies that shipped jobs abroad.
Since he took office, companies like GE, Carrier, Ford, and Harley Davidson have continued to outsource thousands of jobs while still receiving massive tax breaks. And offshoring by federal contractors has increased.
28. He promised to end the opioid crisis.
Americans are now more likely to die from an opioid overdose than a car accident.
29. He said he’d release his tax returns.
It’s been nearly 4 years. He hasn’t released his tax returns.
30. He promised to tear up the Iran nuclear deal and renegotiate a better deal.
Negotiations have gone nowhere, and he brought us to the brink of war.
31. He promised to enact term limits for all members of Congress.

32. He promised that China would pay for tariffs on imported goods.
His trade war has cost U.S. consumers $34 billion a year, eliminated 300,000 American jobs, and cost American taxpayers $22 billion in subsidies for farmers hurt by the tariffs.

Instead, he’s made it easier for for-profit colleges to defraud students, and tuition is still rising.

Hillary Clinton took a seat in the front pew at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida, one of 450 guests on the balmy Saturday night in January 2005 when Donald Trump tied the knot with Melania Knauss, his third (and current) wife. At the reception that followed, Bill Clinton joined his wife, the former first lady who was then serving Trump's home state of New York in the Senate.
Trump now says Clinton had "no choice" but to attend his wedding because he donated money to her campaign. And he's viciously attacking his potential rival for the White House as a liar and a criminal, while dredging up old stories about her husband's zipper problem. But his record of praising both Clintons is voluminous, and seems to go far beyond an attempt to further his business interests.

In August 1998, the same month Clinton testified that he had had an "improper physical relationship" with Lewinsky, Trump pondered how issues with women might befall him as president.
"Can you imagine how controversial I'd be? You think about him with the women — how about me with the women? Can you imagine?" he wondered aloud in a CNBC interview. "I really like this guy, but you really have to say, 'Where does it stop?" Trump asked, remarking that Clinton "had such bad advice" in handling the scandal.
There was the September 1999 interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, in which Trump remarked that Clinton would have gone down in history "as a great president" if not for the Lewinsky scandal, which admittedly had been handled "disgracefully."
Clinton, Trump averred, would have found a "more forgiving" public "if he'd had an affair with a really beautiful woman of sophistication." "Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe were on a different level. Now Clinton can't get into golf clubs in Westchester. A former president begging to get in a golf club. It's unthinkable," he remarked.
In a January 2000 appearance with then-Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, Trump even attacked Linda Tripp, the Pentagon employee who taped her private conversations with Lewinsky in which they discussed her sexual encounters with Clinton, as "the personification of evil."
In an October 2008 interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Trump tore into President George W. Bush for getting the U.S. into war "with lies," remarking that by comparison, his predecessor "got into with something that was totally unimportant." He added: "And they tried to impeach him, which was nonsense."
Trump has been equally generous, if not altogether fawning, in his praise of Hillary Clinton.
In a CNN interview in 2007, he said that Clinton, then running for president for the first time, was a "terrific" person who "would do a good job" cutting a nuclear deal with Iran because she "always surrounded herself with very good people."
On Tuesday, BuzzFeed reported on an archived web page of a blog post on TrumpUniversity.com in March 2008 in which Trump wrote that Clinton would "make a great president or vice-president." “Hillary Clinton said she’d consider naming Barack Obama as her vice-president when she gets the nomination, but she’s nowhere near a shoo-in,” he wrote on March 13, at a time when Sen. Obama held a slim lead over Clinton in terms of estimated pledged delegates. "For his part, Obama said he’s just focused on winning the nomination, although at least one member of his team said Clinton would make a good vice-president. (I know Hillary and I think she’d make a great president or vice-president.)"
After declining to enter the presidential race in 2012, Trump told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren that Clinton had done a great job as secretary of state.
"Hillary Clinton I think is a terrific woman," he said. "I am biased because I have known her for years. I live in New York. She lives in New York. I really like her and her husband both a lot. I think she really works hard. And I think, again, she's given an agenda, it is not all of her, but I think she really works hard and I think she does a good job. I like her."
Asked whether he would support her in the case of a presidential run, Trump said that he did not "want to get into this because I will get myself into trouble."
"I just like her," Trump remarked, adding the same of the former president. "I like her husband. Her husband made a speech on Monday and was very well received. He is — he is a really good guy, and she's a really good person and woman."
Trump sounded a similar note in an October 2013 interview with Larry King, who asked Trump if he thought the former secretary of state would run for the White House a second time, pointing out that she is a "fellow New Yorker."
“Yeah, and I know her very well. They’re members of my club, and I like both of them very much, and he was with you one time and he said he likes me," Trump said, adding, "and I do like him."
While mentioning that there was still "a long time to go" until the election, Trump commented that Clinton's health could be a concern with a potential bid, but that a subsequent run the nomination would be more of a leisurely stroll.
“You have a big health question. Will she be healthy? I hope she’s healthy now. I think she is. But you know that’s a long time. You have to wait till the ’14 [election] is over, and then you have to go out and really do it," Trump said. “You always have to think about health. I think that subject to that or some crazy thing happening — and lots of crazy things can happen —she has the nomination practically wrapped up, it would seem to me.”
As 2015 drew to a close, Trump appeared less concerned with Clinton's physical health and more with her campaign's strategy to, as he said, play "the women's card" against him. Asked to respond specifically to his tweet citing the former president's "abuse" of women, Trump offered to send a list to the office of NBC's "Today."
"Of course, we could name many of them. I can get you a list, and I’ll have it sent to your office in two seconds but there was certainly a lot of abuse of women," Trump told show co-host Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday morning. "You look at whether it's Monica Lewinsky or Paula Jones or many of them, and that certainly will be fair game. Certainly if they play the woman’s card with respect to me, that will be fair game."
Asked to account for his change in tone, Trump explained that it was his "obligation" to get along with everyone when he was on the other side of political transactions.
"I got along with everybody. I got along with the Clintons, I got along with the Republicans, the Democrats, the liberals, the conservatives. That was my obligation. As a businessman, I had to get along with everybody, and I’ll get along and do that as president," he continued, remarking, "when I needed approvals, when I needed something from Washington, I always got what I wanted, and that’s because I was able to get along with everybody."

Hillary Clinton took a seat in the front pew at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida, one of 450 guests on the balmy Saturday night in January 2005 when Donald Trump tied the knot with Melania Knauss, his third (and current) wife. At the reception that followed, Bill Clinton joined his wife, the former first lady who was then serving Trump's home state of New York in the Senate.
Trump now says Clinton had "no choice" but to attend his wedding because he donated money to her campaign. And he's viciously attacking his potential rival for the White House as a liar and a criminal, while dredging up old stories about her husband's zipper problem. But his record of praising both Clintons is voluminous, and seems to go far beyond an attempt to further his business interests.
For instance, the Donald Trump of 2015 says that Bill Clinton has "demonstrated a penchant for sexism" and has a "terrible record of women abuse." Over the years, however, he repeatedly downplayed the importance of the former president's affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
