X. Environmental Impact

The agency has determined under 21 CFR 25.24(a)(8) that this action is of a type that does not individually or cumulatively have a significant effect on the human environment. Therefore, neither an environmental assessment nor an environmental impact statement is required.

This action is intended to provide guidance to developers by describing the scientific considerations for the safe development of foods derived from new plant varieties.
