September 20, 2013

Borrowing books from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library: The Kindle Owners' Lending Library is available to Amazon Prime members and features hundreds and thousands of titles, including many best sellers. Books borrowed from the lending library have no due date, and can be delivered to other kindle devices registered to your Amazon account. Prime members can borrow one book from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library each calendar month. You can deliver the book to other kindle devices registered to your Amazon account.

From your kindle device, open "The Kindle Store," and tap "All Categories," and then tap "Kindle Owners' Lending Library." When you've made your book selection, tap "Borrow or Read for Free." You may borrow only one book per month. If you've already borrowed a book for the current month, the "Read for Free" button will direct you to "Kindle Unlimited." "Kindle Unlimited" is a subscription service that allows unlimited access to books and audiobooks for a monthly fee. Note that titles that are available in both the Kindle Owners' Lending Library and Kindle Unlimited will have a "Read for Free" button instead of a "Borrow For Free" button. If you cancel your Amazon Prime membership after you borrow a book, your book will automatically be returned to the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. Your bookmarks, notes and highlights within the book will be saved to your Amazon account and are available if you borrow or purchase the book later.

To return a book, visit "Manage Your Content and Devices" at www.amazon.com/mycd. Select your book, click the "Actions Menu," and then click "Return Book."
