An informed military source told Tasnim on Thursday that with the growing speculation about the possibility of a “historical folly” by the US in launching a ground invasion on the southern front of Iran, a wave of enthusiasm has emerged among Iranian ground fighters to create a “historical hell” for the Americans on Iranian soil.

The source noted that in addition to organizing more than one million fighters for ground combat, in recent days there has been a massive influx of requests from Iranian youth directed towards the centers of Basij, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and the Army to also participate in this battle.

“The US wants to open the Strait of Hormuz with suicide and self-destructive tactics; that's fine. We are ready for both their suicide strategy to be executed and for the Strait to remain closed,” the military source added.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

In a post on his X account on Wednesday, Qalibaf issued a grave warning regarding a potential operation to occupy one of Iran's strategic islands, saying external adversaries are collaborating with a nearby nation to implement their hostile agenda.

“Enemies of Iran, with the support of one of the countries in the region, are preparing for an operation to occupy one of the Iranian islands,” he said.

“If they take even a single step, all the vital infrastructure of that regional country will become an unrestricted target for attack,” Qalibaf warned.

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Zionist regime’s army has once again reacted angrily to reports from Tasnim News Agency regarding the US-Israeli war of aggression, arguing that Tasnim's statistics on the number of Israeli casualties are baseless and not authentic.

The Israeli regime’s army has not clarified which specific part of the Tasnim News Agency's report is baseless.

A few days ago, the Hebrew website of Tasnim presented specific information, stating that based on burial statistics from major cemeteries in Israel and the activities of ZAKA teams, as well as data from the Chevra Kadisha organizations, the number of Israeli regime’s casualties by the 21st day of the war was at least 1,281.

Now the Israeli army must clearly specify which part of this information is incorrect. Is the average of 211 burials per day --and an increase of 61 burials per day compared to non-wartime days-- not real? Are the 703 missions of ZAKA rescue teams not real? Or what else?

It is natural for the Israeli army to get angry about its failure to achieve objectives, the setbacks in the field, and increasing casualties. However, nervous reactions do not necessarily change the outcome or reduce casualties.

We do not need an admission from the Israeli army, but the residents of the occupied territories have the right to know how many casualties they have been left with.

It has been suggested multiple times that residents of the occupied territories visit cemeteries to verify these claims. It is not a difficult task at all.

The Israeli regime’s army may be able to change cemetery databases after such reports or cease recording the statistics of ZAKA deployments, but what can they do about the graves in the cemeteries? Unless they intend to create mass graves instead of individual graves!

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Hebrew website of Tasnim News Agency has concluded that the number of casualties in the occupied territories has surpassed 1,280 people.

The Hebrew group of Tasnim has examined data related to the following Israeli cemeteries:

1) Har HaMenuchot Cemetery in Jerusalem

2) Yarkon Cemetery in Petah Tikva

3) Holon Cemetery in Holon

4) Segula Cemetery in Petah Tikva

5) Kiryat Shaul Cemetery in Tel Aviv

8) Nahalat Yitzhak Cemetery in Givatayim

Tasnim has also taken a look at the casualties in the Chevra Kadisha organizations in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem (occupied al-Quds), Haifa, Petah Tikva, and Rishon LeZion, as well as data related to the movements of ZAKA (Zihuy Korbanot Ason) or “Disaster Victim Identification” teams, reaching the conclusion that the number of casualties in the recent war in Israel is at least 1,281.

Chevra Kadisha are the responsible organizations for burial affairs in Israel.

Based on the findings of the Hebrew website of Tasnim, an analysis of data related to the database of cemeteries in Israel indicates that the average number of deaths in the occupied territories is about 150 people on ordinary days. However, an additional daily average of 61 people has been added over the past 21 days, bringing the average number of those buried during these days to at least 211 per day.

Therefore, if the minimum casualties is estimated at an average of 61 people per day, a total of 1,281 fatalities can be projected over a period of 21 days.

The statistics related to the movements of ZAKA rescue teams also report 703 cases. Considering that ZAKA, unlike regular emergency services that use ambulances to transport the injured, is specifically for the deceased, this level of movement further substantiates the figure of 1,281 rather than what official Israeli accounts claim.

ZAKA teams are part of a volunteer rescue organization in the Zionist regime that operate at scenes of death and severe incidents, not in transporting the injured.

In this analysis, the statistics related to the casualties in Arad and Dimona that occurred yesterday have not yet been taken into account.

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Lebanese Hezbollah announced on Thursday that its fighters clashed with Israeli forces in southern Lebanon and destroyed several advanced Merkava tanks.

Hezbollah said its fighters engaged the enemy using light and medium weapons as well as rocket-propelled projectiles on the road leading to the town of Qantara in southern Lebanon.

The resistance group stated that it targeted an Israeli Merkava tank with a guided missile and confirmed a direct hit.

Hezbollah added that its fighters destroyed one Merkava tank in the town of Qantara, raising the total number of destroyed Israeli tanks to six in recent operations.

In a related development, Hezbollah reported striking three Merkava tanks with guided missiles in the Al-Muhayssabat hill area of the town of Al-Taybeh, inflicting casualties on the Zionist enemy.

Separately, the resistance movement said it targeted a second Merkava tank in the town of Debl in southern Lebanon with a guided missile, causing further losses to the Israeli forces.

Earlier on Thursday, warning sirens sounded across the greater Tel Aviv area in central Israel after rockets were launched from Lebanon.

Hezbollah declared that it targeted Israeli military sites in Tel Aviv with precision missiles.

The group said the strikes hit the Kirya complex, which houses Israel’s Defense Ministry, as well as the Dolphin barracks belonging to the Military Intelligence Directorate in central Israel.

Al-Mayadeen reported that the Israeli regime used white phosphorus bombs in strikes on the areas of Arnoun, Yohmor al-Shaqif and Kfar Tebnit in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli regime launched its military aggression against Lebanese territory on March 2.

Lebanon's Health Ministry announced on Wednesday that 1,094 people have been killed and 3,119 others wounded since the start of the Israeli regime's aggression on Lebanon.

In the latest wave of Israeli assaults on Lebanon over the past less than four weeks, more than one million people have also been displaced.

Separately, the use of white phosphorus, an incendiary weapon known to cause severe burns and long-term suffering, in populated areas has drawn sharp condemnation as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

Iranian forces have been fortifying the strategic Kharg Island and “laying traps” in anticipation of a US decision to launch a ground assault, sources familiar with US intelligence told CNN on 25 March.

“Iran has been laying traps and moving additional military personnel and air defenses to Kharg Island in recent weeks in preparation for a possible US operation to take control of the island,” the sources said.

“There would be significant risks involved in such a ground operation,” the sources went on to say, including “a large number of US casualties.”

“The island has layered defenses, and the Iranians have moved additional shoulder-fired, surface-to-air guided missile systems known as MANPADs there in recent weeks. Iran has also been laying traps, including anti-personnel and anti-armor mines, around the island,” they added.

Mines have even been laid along the shoreline where US troops could carry out an amphibious assault, the report said.

“Some allies of the president are raising serious questions about whether there is a need to attempt such an operation, since successfully taking the island would not, on its own, resolve problems related to the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s stranglehold on the global energy market.”

Washington has recently deployed two Marine Expeditionary Units to the region. These would be the forces involved in any operation to capture Kharg Island.

The CNN report claims Iranian defenses on the island have been degraded by recent US attacks, but that any invading troops on Kharg would be susceptible to ballistic missile and drone hits, given the proximity to the Iranian coast.

One of CNN’s sources said, “Trump officials are still grappling with whether a ground mission is worth the risk.”

Axios reported on 20 March that Trump was planning to take over Kharg. Earlier in the month, the president ordered strikes on the island and claimed all military facilities on it were “obliterated.”

Tehran said there was no damage to oil infrastructure, but acknowledged that military assets were targeted.

Iran has issued stern warnings against any future attacks on Kharg.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned on Wednesday of the possibility of Kharg being invaded with the support of an unnamed “regional state.”

“Based on intelligence reports, Iran’s enemies are preparing to occupy one of the Iranian islands with the support of a country in the region,” he said, stressing that Iranian forces “are monitoring all enemy movements,” and vowing that any such move would be met with “the targeting of all the vital infrastructure of that regional country with continuous and relentless attacks.”

“The phosphate extracted from the Rotem site is exported to several ICL facilities in the United States. Most dangerously, ICL is the sole supplier of white phosphorus to the US military, internationally-banned munitions used by the occupation army in Gaza and Lebanon to burn homes, bodies, and agricultural lands,” RNN reported, adding that the “only source of uranium in occupied Palestine is the Dead Sea phosphate ICL has exclusive rights to.”

ICL Group is the largest chemicals company in Israel. It was owned by the Israeli government until the 1990s, and holds exclusive rights to extract Palestinian resources from the Dead Sea until 2030, as the sea’s water levels continue to decline at an alarming pace.

The phosphate extracted at Rotem is exported to several ICL-linked facilities abroad, including in the US. It is a supplier of white phosphorus – used by Israeli forces against civilians in Lebanon and Gaza – to the US military, according to RNN’s research.

The attack comes as part of a recent string of major retaliatory missile operations by the Islamic Republic.

Earlier on Wednesday, an Iranian missile struck the vicinity of the Orot Rabin Power Plant in Hadera.

The Israeli Knesset’s National Security Committee has advanced a bill to allow the execution of Palestinian prisoners, voting late on 24 March to approve the final two votes that will codify the draft law into legislation.

The bill was put forward by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit party.

MK Limor Son Har-Melech, Ben Gvir’s party colleague who sponsored the bill, said “the law sets out a clear and unequivocal message: Those who choose to murder Jews because they are Jews lose their right to live,” while calling it “a moral and necessary step.”

“No more revolving door of attacks, imprisonments, and releases. This law restores deterrence, restores justice, and sends a clear and unambiguous message to our enemies: Jewish blood is not cheap. We will continue to lead an uncompromising policy against terror until victory,” Ben Gvir said after the vote.

An Otzma Yehudit statement said the bill will head for its final readings next week.

The bill was approved in a preliminary reading in March 2023 and passed its first official reading in the Knesset in November 2025.

It requires another two readings to be passed into law. Executions will apply only to Palestinians who kill or attempt to kill Israelis, and not to Israeli soldiers or settlers responsible for war crimes.

Ben Gvir, who assumed control of the prison system when Netanyahu’s government came to power, has long pushed for the execution of Palestinians.

Last month, Hebrew news outlet Channel 13 reported that the Israeli prison service has plans to set up an “execution facility.” According to the report, the facility has already been unofficially named “The Israeli Green Mile,” a reference to the 1996 novel about death row, later adapted into a film in 1999.

Three prison guards would be responsible for pressing the trigger in unison in order to hang a detainee. Taking part would be voluntary, and the executioners would receive special training, the report adds.
